We're a chef, two operators, and a sales manager—what could go wrong?
After years working in high-end restaurants around the world, and even longer debating what makes a place great, we got tired of the noise.
The over-designed concepts, the sterile service, the sky-high prices. We wanted something that felt real.
KIMA wasn’t born in a boardroom. It came out of a full-blown argument.
Somewhere between spreadsheets and stubborn egos, a low-key idea for a neighbourhood Izakaya was tossed aside—until it wasn’t.
After one too many heated debates (and maybe a few shouting matches), the realisation hit: why not build something that actually felt right?
So we did.

Built on passion, creativity, and a bit of fury, KIMA is everything we wanted to see in Dubai’s dining scene: relaxed, approachable, affordable, and genuinely good.
A little loud, a little rough around the edges, but full of heart.
